BACK TO BASICS: November 2011

I have subscribed to five different magazines, watch five different fashion shows and follow sales at almost every clothing store (local bargain stores or corporate stores). Last week I was out shopping at Forever 21 and Styles For Less and I was overwhelmed with the amount of choices I had and the amazing bargain priced clothing. I bought eight items under $65, their original worth probably $200. Yah, it is possible to shop smart. But back to the overwhelming part...I realized I really need to go back to the basics, the basic trends in general that I must have in my closet. After staring at my closet for over an hour, I was finally able to jot down the basic trends. Let me take you Back To Basics and help you discover what is truly "in" right now.

Taylor Swift in a long sleeve black shirt with a short black leather jacket and black tights and black leather boots to enhance the leather jacket. Of course her favorite red lipstick with a red bini that fully enhances her black out.  You must have at least one pair of black boots, black jacket, a bini, and at least two long sleeve shirt. If you are wearing one color outfit only then you must enhance it with at least  one other color. In Taylor's case, it is the red lipstick and red bini that allows her to shine. Her Grey purse is a great touch as well.

Ladies, like it or not, skirts are in! They are my fave! Long skirts make your waist appear skinny, cover your legs on a warm summer day yet keep them cool or  keep them covered and warm on a cool November night. You can wear boots, stilettos, flats, or sandals. Whether you live in Australia, France, Ecuador, or America, owning couple of long skirts will always be beneficial in either hot or cold environments. Short skirts are great! They can simply look like what they are: skirt or you can make it look like a sexy dress. You must own at least one pair of small, mini skirt. You can always cover your legs with a pair of tights. Another must have!

Are we back in the twentieth century? I think yes. Bell Bottoms are so hot right now. I love them because I can either wear them for professional outings or personal. They look great and allow me to look slim! You have to have them. =)

Yes polka dots are back in and this time for adults! You don't have to be ten years old to wear polka dots. Rachel Bilson is rocking the polka dot dress with a brown leather handbag and boots. Although, I do think that she could have added a cute belt to her dress, she is looking great.

Mila Kunis: Her outfit in this picture says it all. You need to own a  pair of Skinny Jeans, Nude Pumps, and a simple yet elegant top for casual wear. Skinny Jeans! Skinny Jeans! If you want to start being fashionable then you need to start here! Go buy a pair of Skinny Jeans today!
Isn't Cameron Diaz great? I love her spontaneous personality; Cameron'sblue shoes totally show that and  stand out in this picture. I love that her simple yet elegant top and jeans blend in well while the bright blue shoes are the object of attention. =) Although her bright red lipstick is fighting for attention as well. Always pick one accessory or an object of your outfit to stand out.

Taylor Swift in a black blazer with a cute top and a friendly skirt. Blazers are so in! You can wear them with skinny jeans, skirts, capris, or dresses! A blazer in your closet is a must have clothing!
